About
Alexander Pyles is a multimedia journalist who has covered the Maryland General Assembly, crime, business and every level of sports using a variety of storytelling methods online and in print.
He currently covers state government, transportation and the economy for The Daily Record in Baltimore.
Pyles’ journalism has been published by The Baltimore Sun, The (Wilmington, Del.) News Journal, The Huffington Post, Patch.com and InsideLacrosse.com. Along the way, he broke the news of major development projects in Baltimore County, Md., and his reporting changed the course of legislation in the Delaware General Assembly that would have banned a popular sport.
He also teaches online journalism at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, where he earned a master’s degree in 2011.
Pyles spends his spare time training for marathons and scouring the craft beer scene, but never at the same time. He lives in Baltimore.
